Over the weekend I helped my dad replace the brakes on our car because I want to be a car mechanic when I grow up. I had a lot of fun I got to take off the wheels, take the brakes off and put the new brakes on. I hope to fix our car more when needed so that I can get better at working on cars.

Story

A kid walked out the door. He was about five foot five with a long nose and hazel brown eyes. He was thirteen years old; he lived in a big neighborhood and knew his way around extremely well. He was wearing baggy pants and a gray shirt with an emblem on it. This young man had a passion for skateboarding. In fact he was going out to skateboard around seven o’clock at night. He always went to the park first. The park had a big field, a lot of benches, and a skate park. He started doing his typical routine in the skate park and suddenly he got a strange feeling that he was being watched. He looked back and found out that a man who he could not identify was watching him. As a result he fled the park and started on the street. He watched the man continue to follow him so he picked up his speed. He looked back again and it turned out that he had put a lot of distance between himself and the man who pursued him. After thinking that he had evaded the man he noticed that there was a man up ahead. He goes up to this guy and explains that a lunatic was following him.
The man looked at him and he noticed that the man had a mean look on his face; he had a short bulbous nose and green eyes that had a certain gleam in them. All of a sudden he realizes that this is the man who has been following him. The boy panics and turns around to run for it. Eventually he was able to get his skateboard under him and started to skateboard for his life toward the skate park. The boy thought he lost him but didn’t dare look back.
He made it to the skate park without being caught and quickly went into the park. He went in the tunnel that was there, he hid and was very quiet except for his hard breathing and the beating of his heart. He heard the man coming in and the boy held his breath so the man wouldn’t hear him. Then thought he heard the man leaving the park or so he thought. He climbed out of the tunnel he was in and went out of the skate park. He then saw the man behind a tree and realized that he had been deceived. The man now had him cornered between a ramp and a wall in the park. The boy took an evasive action and skateboarded toward the ramp. The man saw this and stood right in front of the ramp so that he could catch him by the leg. Instead of getting him, he saw that the boy was four feet over his head and he just missed his skateboard by an inch. The boy has never done this type of trick in his history of skateboarding. He got a head start. Then he heard the revving of a car behind him and had a feeling that the man was following him in his car. He didn’t dare look back, but went faster. Soon the kid ran out of fuel and climbed up a tree to rest. He didn’t hear the car, but knew that the man was somewhere below him wondering where he went. Suddenly he was thankful that he ate dinner or else he wouldn’t have been able to run from this lunatic who he thinks wants to kill him for no reason. Now the kid jumped down from the tree and asked, “Why are you chasing me everywhere I go?” The man replied, “ You hit my car with a rock and broke a window!” He replied, “ Oh! That was your car, I’m sorry sir, I had no idea that it was your car.” The man replied, “ Well it was and now it’s going to cost me three hundred dollars to repair it!!” He said, “ I am so sorry but I guess I could pay for the damages and call it even.” The man said, “Deal!” Then they both went home.

Alchemist final-Love

Something that is really simple for me that I appreciate is my parent’s love. It’s the simplest thing in the world but I still appreciate it. In the book the boy really appreciated the ruins of the church because he thought of it as his home. I think that love can get complicated but I also think that it can be simple. I appreciate love because if we didn’t have love then we wouldn’t be happy and no one would care about us. There are a lot of people who don’t get cared about but eventually someone in their lives will love them. In this book they talk about how the language of the world is love and I think that’s right. If you can truly love someone then you have gone deep into the language of the world. Love to me is when you look at someone or hear someone’s voice and at that moment you forget about all of your problems and it’s like your just standing on the edges of time waiting for something to happen. This happens to the boy, when he meets Fatima it’s like time has stopped and that every problem of his was whisked away by the wind and all he cared about now was her. That in my mind is true love.
